Arkane Collective
About
A group of artists, makers and musicians working out of Glossop, at the edge of the Peak District, marking the old turns of the year.
Who we are
We started as a handful of people who kept ending up in the same rooms, and decided to stop pretending that was a coincidence.
Arkane Collective is a loose group of artists, makers and musicians based in and around Glossop. We work in clay, cloth, ink, sound and light, mostly separately, and then a few times a year we put it all in one room and see what it does together.
What holds it together is the old calendar: the harvest in, the lights lit, the year turning over. We're less interested in frightening anyone than in the quieter side of Samhain, making room for the people who aren't here any more, and walking out in the dark with everyone who is.
Sam Hain is our biggest night of the year. The rest of the time we're in workshops, kitchens and back rooms, building the next one.
